OBEDIENCE TO THE FATHER
Jesus was obedient to God-His Father for our sake. Our Lord had a purpose in mind and that was to reveal our Father. He declared,
John 10:11 – “I am the good Shepherd, the good Shepherd giveth His life for the Sheep”
He not only declared it but laid down His life so that through His death, we may receive His life. The verses John 10:11-14 are anchor verses which show the Lord’s perfect love and sacrifice through which the blessings of Christ have been obtained for us.
He gave Himself to death, so that we may experience and live by His Life, and that too in abundance and in an overflowing manner. The spirit of the world thrives through the sacrifice of the people but the Spirit of Christ lives in us because of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
HE KNOWS HIS OWN
John 10:14 – “I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me.
Our Good Shepherd knows us and expects us to know Him. He does not know us as the hireling, who flees at the sight of trouble to save himself.
John 10:12 – He who is a hired hand and not a shepherd, who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them and scatters them.
There were many instances when shepherds were usually not the owners of the sheep, but they were required to love and care because of their ministry as shepherds. The knowledge existing between the Shepherd and His flock originates from companionship and love. By all this, Christ indicated that by serving Him we would have His life in abundance, the one formerly planned for us by God.
CHANGE YOUR PERCEPTION OF LIFE
The people came from far and wide to hear Jesus Christ. While they were hearing Him teach the Kingdom of God, they still lacked healing, deliverance, restoration, and wholeness in their spirit, soul, and body. They had no revelation that their deepest need was not external or physical, but the healing of the soul and spirit.
They looked at life carnally: meaning through their flesh, senses, outwardly and on the surface-shallow. They looked for better living conditions, health, a favorable government, etc., These were at the center of their concerns. But, Jesus knew their hearts concerns and not only did He heal and deliver them from sickness, disease and evil spirits, but He also preached them the freedom and life that God desired to give them by His Spirit.
May you experience this life and freedom through the Spirit of the Lord living inside of you. May you be spiritually minded and walk as sons and daughters of the living God.
John 1:12 – But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.
