*Reading Time: 3 minutes*

Why am I created? What is my purpose in this life? Do I go about like everyone else or is there anything more that I am missing? These questions arise in the minds of numerous people and because they don’t find any immediate answers, they dive into their own beliefs and superstitions, not knowing that Almighty God has created them for a purpose.

I have been fascinated by sketches and paintings created by some great painters of our era. These are the ‘Magnum Opus’ which means, ‘a great work of art or literature, especially the finest work produced by one artist or author’

We are the ‘Magnum Opus’ of God. We are a great work of art, created and fashioned by the Master designer – our Father. We have not evolved from a supposed Big Bang in the universe. We are God’s sons and daughters. God wants us to live as His example and be exact representations of His character and nature in this earth. We are fearfully and wonderfully made.

Psalm 114:39 – I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

None of God’s creation could ever boast of the magnitude of God’s love for them, as we do, because the Son of God died for us to make us sons and co-heirs with Him in His Kingdom. No human being is ever created alike. Our finger prints are different.

God has created us to glorify Him and display His glory in the earth

Isaiah 43:7 – Even everyone who is called by My name, whom I have created for My glory, whom I have formed, whom I have made.

Our praise and thanksgiving gives Him glory and glorifies Him

Psalm 50:23 – He who brings an offering of praise and thanksgiving honors and glorifies Me

We are created to honor and glorify God in all we do

1 Corinthians 10:31 – So then, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you may do, do all for the honor and glory of God.

To enjoy God and His fullness

Psalm 16:11 – You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy, at Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore.

“In commanding us to glorify Him, God is inviting us to enjoy Him.” – C.S. Lewis

He has created us to enjoy His life in abundance

John 10:10 – I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).

We are created for His pleasure

Revelation 4:11 – Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

We are created to love Him and love others

Matthew 22:37-39 – Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

He created us to have fellowship with Him

1 Corinthians 1:9 – God is faithful (reliable, trustworthy, and therefore ever true to His promise, and He can be depended on); by Him you were called into companionship and participation with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

To spread His knowledge through the gospel, by making disciples of all nations

Jesus gives a command before He leaves for heaven. He said,

Matthew 28:19-20 – ‘Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’

He has created us for connecting fellowship and to strengthen others

Romans 15:1 – WE WHO are strong [in our convictions and of robust faith] ought to bear with the failings and the frailties and the tender scruples of the weak; [we ought to help carry the doubts and qualms of others] and not to please ourselves.

God has created us for Himself

Romans 11:36 – For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. [For all things originate with Him and come from Him; all things live through Him, and all things center in and tend to consummate and to end in Him.] To Him be glory forever! Amen (so be it).
